So in May 2020, Olymp Trade teamed up with Rumah Zakat Foundation (one of the most well-known foundations in Indonesia) to provide aid in various cities, including Jakarta, Surabaya, Bandung, Bogor, Bekasi, Depok, Solo, and Tangerang. The aid mainly included food materials to ease the financial strain on the families.

India: The Ganesha Chaturthi Festival Mission

Another country that has taken a severe hit from the pandemic is India. It is the second worst-affected country after the USA, and I am sure you have heard all about the migrant crisis that resulted from it.

For the poorest of people, it is a knockout punch, and thus Olymp Trade teamed with the world-renowned Smile Foundation for a charity program in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

The goal of the event was to provide food to families within the low-income group. The food provided was ample to feed a family of 4-5 for about 1 to 1.5 months.

Apart from that, sanitization and hygiene products were also part of the package to help curb the covid-19 pandemic from spreading into rural India.

The event also marked the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, a deity that is often associated with generosity and prosperity.

Note: The Smile Foundation was started way back in 2002 and supports over 1.5 million children and their families via 400+ social projects that aim to provide good food, health services, and education.

Vietnam: Emergency Aid for Flood Victims

Vietnam was already fighting a hard battle against the deadly covid-19 when rainstorms caused by tropical cyclones hit the country during October and November in 2020. This, in turn, caused massive floods and landslides across the country.

Not only did thousands of people lose their homes, but many farmers in these regions were left without crops to sell or land to grow them, leaving their financial position in dire strain.

The Olymp Trade team quickly sprung to action. It provided emergency relief packages in severely hit regions like the Hai Lang District (the North Central Coast region of Vietnam) via events held on November 28th and 29th.

The emergency aid included food, water, etc., that will easily last families of 4-5 for about a month.

Indonesia: Lending a Helping Hand to South Kalimantan

Like Vietnam, Indonesia also had to fight battles on multiple fronts. Apart from covid-19, the country was hit by record-breaking floods amongst other natural disasters in early 2021.

One place that saw the worst of the consequences of these disasters was South Kalimantan (a province situated in the southeastern area of Borneo). About 11,500 residents lost not just their homes but also other belongings as about 4000 houses got submerged.

Olymp Trade teamed up with DT Peduli (a reputed non-profit organization) and ensured timely relief delivery in temporary set-up camps where these families were now staying.

The relief packages included not just food and water but also hygiene and sanitary products in tandem with blankets, school books, etc.

The sanitary and hygiene products helped prevent a covid-19 outbreak amongst the already weak and suffering people, while the school supplies ensured education didn’t come to a standstill.

And if any of the families had babies, they were also given baby formula and diapers to ensure the safety and good health of the little ones.

Egypt: Helping Protect the Most Vulnerable From COVID-19

Egypt has quite a few care homes where differently-abled people or those with chronic conditions get medical attention and assistance they need to have a comfortable life.

These people were the most vulnerable to the covid-19 pandemic as they were likely to develop severe symptoms and also miss out on good treatment due to the overburden on the healthcare system.

Ensuring the safety of the people in these care homes was one of our priorities. Hence Olymp Trade joined hands with the Egyptian Red Crescent (ERC) to lend a helping hand to numerous orphanages and nursing homes in Cairo, Giza, and Alexandria.

This included giving them flu shots. 700 kits with essential hygiene accessories were also distributed while they also helped sanitize the premises of these orphanages and nursing homes.
